Members Forum Committee

ROLE OF THE MEMBERS FORUM COMMITTEE

Facilitating (via the Members Forum) discussion, comments, exchange of news/ideas etc between other BANT Members

Regularly reviewing/updating the Members Forum Rules and Procedures

Moderating comments (posts) submitted by Forum Members

Ensuring Forum Members abide by the Rules

Responding to queries, comments and suggestions from Forum Members

Acting on alerts received from Forum Members regarding inappropriate posts

Referring Forum Members' comments/suggestion/disputes to Council (and BANT Chair)

Maintaining the list of Forum Topics and Threads

ROLE OF THE CHAIR OF THE MEMBERS FORUM COMMITTEE

Oversees and co-ordinates the projects/functions listed above

Monitors, maintains and prioritises the list of issues and enhancements relating to the Members Forum, and ensures these are communicated to the BANT Chair, BANT Administrator and IT representatives (where relevant) for progression/resolution

Holds position for the minimum of 1 year and maximum of 3 years

Keeps an up to date contact list and sends a copy to the administrator

Finds and trains a replacement before standing down

Arranges meetings 4 times per year

Arranges for minutes to be taken at each meeting

Holds a register for meeting attendance of committee members

Is the main point of contact for the committee

Presents a summary of the year's activities at the AGM

Sends a committee member to present an interim report at BANT council meetings

Updates and adds to the policies and documents that form the duties and goals of the committee

Monitors support provided by the committee members and reports to council at the end of September each year

Submits a register of attendance and hard copy of all the minutes of meetings that took place throughout the year to the administrator, at the end of September each year

COMMITTEE STRUCTURE

1 voluntary Chair selected from BANT Membership, reselected after between 1-3 years

4 voluntary BANT Members reselected year by year

Chairman is selected from the committee members, approved by the BANT Council and reports to the Council on all matters regarding the Member Forum

COMMITTEE MEETINGS AND RECORDS

The Committee meets quarterly with a quorum consisting of the Chair plus 2 committee members

The Committee keeps confidential written records of all discussions, meetings, and decisions

  • Regular contributor to articles in health and lifestyle magazines
  • Responsible for maintaining the Book Section on the BANT website
