PR Committee

ROLE OF THE PR COMMITTEE

Is a point of contact for the public, media and journalists

Directs the public to their local practitioners

Answers questions on BANT and the nutrition industry

Maintains contact with members and deal with general enquiries

Provides contact points for Group/Corporate health education provision, Work/Life Balance schemes

Provides access to lecturers of adult education courses

ROLE OF THE CHAIR OF THE PR COMMITTEE

Oversees and co-ordinates the projects/functions listed above

Holds position for the minimum of 1 year and maximum of 3 years

Keeps an up to date contact list and sends a copy to the administrator

Finds and trains a replacement before standing down

Arranges meetings 4 times per year

Arranges for minutes to be taken at each meeting

Holds a register for meeting attendance of committee members

Is the main point of contact for the committee

Presents a summary of the year's activities at the AGM

Sends a committee member to present an interim report at BANT council meetings

Updates and adds to the policies and documents that form the duties and goals of the committee

Monitors support provided by the committee members and reports to council at the end of September each year

Submits a register of attendance and hard copy of all the minutes of meetings that took place throughout the year to the administrator, at the end of September each year

COMMITTEE STRUCTURE

4 voluntary BANT Members

Chairman is selected from the committee members, approved by the BANT Council and reports to the Council on all matters regarding PR.

COMMITTEE MEETINGS AND RECORDS

The Committee meets quarterly with a quorum consisting of the Chair plus 2 committee members.

The Committee keeps written records of all discussions, meetings, and decisions. A summary of events is provided at the all council meetings and the AGM.

  • Part-time NT practice through college in Wokingham, CNELM (Centre for Nutrition Education and Lifestyle Management)
  • Previous 8 year career in IT as senior research analyst for the semiconductor industry (forecast modelling, supply and demand analyses, market share analyses)

  • Dip (Economics) from Heidelberg University, Germany
