Catharine Trustram Eve, previously a market strategist and strategic planning director in the Department of Health and telecoms industry respectively, led the Strategy Team to develop the mission, vision, critical success factors and strategic objectives. Catharine said "The mission is central to an efficient and effective BANT. Every time we make a decision or spend any money we need to answer the question 'how will this increase the number of effective nutritional therapy consultations?'. That way we can be sure that we won't waste a moment of effort or a pound of membership fee."
Karen Slattery, an experienced project and programme manager, hot from the Olympics, was responsible for the next stage of the strategic plan, ie, turning the strategic objectives into a 5 year programme plan. Karen worked with the other BANT directors and leads to develop operational plans including costs and programme which collectively could deliver the strategic objectives. Karen said "It is important that members be able to see a clear route map to achieving the vision over the next 5 years and how their membership fees would be spent."
Niki Gratrix, Miguel Toribio-Mateas, Melanie de Grooth, Louise Carder and Deborah Colson brought a wealth of experience in business, clinic management and nutritional therapy into the team.
